Why not start off the New Year by joining the Naugatuck Garden Club for some fun. The club meets every month on the third Thursday of the month at St. Michael’s Church in Naugatuck, CT. It is open to the general public and anyone interested in gardening.
The club is seeking new members and offers you a chance to work on the many different gardens in town. Some of the projects are the bridge boxes, gazebo, World War Memorial garden, and the fountain on the green. The club features many interesting programs on different types of gardening and regular trips members can attend. It has active workshops on how to design centerpieces to making wreaths. Gardening is great exercise and good for your health and wellness. For more information call Joan Russell, membership at 729-0101 or Daryl Masone, president at 729-8846.

Summer Music Festival On the Green 2008
In it’s 22nd Year!
The Naugatuck Arts Commission is pleased to announce this year’s summer concert schedule. This year’s line up presents what we feel is a diverse yet entertaining package.
We hope that everyone will make it a point to come to the scenic and historic town green to enjoy a family friendly evening of music and community spirit.
Once again this year we (The Naugatuck Arts Commission) are encouraging local non profit organizations to make it a point to come down to the concerts and set up tables to provide information about their groups to promote public awareness. Any non profit groups looking to do so should contact Chairpersons Lisa D’Andrea (723-4823) or Ty Smith (729-2445). More contact info is available at www.naugatuckarts.org.
In addition we are also inviting all downtown merchants to stay open on the nights of the concerts so that they may have a chance to introduce their services and products to concertgoers.
The Summer Music Festival is now entering its 22nd year of existence. All concerts will begin at 7:00 p.m. and will end at 9:00 p.m. Concert goers are encouraged to pack a picnic supper and are reminded that alcoholic beverages are not allowed on public property (per local ordinance). Local non-profit groups the Knights of Columbus and Naugatuck Community Choir will be selling food, snacks and beverages. All concerts are rain or shine events.
Please remember to bring
non-perishable food items to benefit the Food Bank.
The truck will be located right next to the Gazebo. We will also
occasionally “pass the hat” to benefit the
Ceasar Ruggeri
Scholarship Fund. This year new mascot Arty the
Arts Bears (12” fundraiser teddy bear) will also be available
