POSITION: Per Diem Dispatcher/Clerk
DEPARTMENT: Senior Center
UNION: Non-Union
WORKING HOURS: 4.5 hours per week
RATE OF PAY: $9.00/hour
DATE: August 25, 2010
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Performs various clerical and customer service tasks at the Naugatuck Senior Center. This position works closely with mini-bus driver regarding the scheduling of mini-bus daily trips, including maintaining a log of daily transportation. Answers telephones in a prompt and courteous manner. Greets visitors that enter the Senior Center and answers questions from visitors or members as needed. Refer difficult situations to Director for resolution. Works with others to sign up new members and assists new members in completing new membership forms. Job includes receiving monies for membership, trips and special events. Dispatcher/Clerk performs routine filing, copying, and other clerical duties as instructed or needed.
REPORT TO: Senior Center Director.
QUALIFICATIONS – KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED. Candidates with experience working or volunteering in a senior center or working with senior adult population are desired. Strong verbal and written skills, organizational and time management skills, and customer service skills are necessary.
