Mission Statement
The Naugatuck Senior Center is dedicated to
enhancing the quality of life for adults fifty years
of age and older. Offering a variety of programs in
creative arts, educational classes, social service
information, recreational activities, and community
volunteer service. The Naugatuck Senior Center
creates opportunities for its members to continue
their personal growth and meaningful service to the
community of Naugatuck, Connecticut.
Mini bus transportation is available on
Monday-Friday. Pick up times: 9:00 AM, 10:30 AM, and
1:00 PM. Call a day ahead to schedule a ride for
area shopping, doctor appointments, hair dresser,
etc..
Activities
Every Monday, 1 p.m. - art class
1st Tuesday of every month - arts and crafts
2nd and 4th Tuesday of every month - Senior Women's
Friendship Club
Every Wednesday - Men's Club, 1:30 p.m.
Every Wednesday - line dancing, 10-11:30 a.m.
2nd Thursday of every month - WIC program
Every Friday following lunch - Bingo
In compatible weather - shuffleboard, boccci,
horseshoes, card playing - any day
Mini bus services available every day, just call a
day ahead - shopping, doctor, hairdresser, etc...
Lunch served every day at 11:30 a.m. - call a day
ahead to order
Computer classes for beginners available at
intermittent periods
Some people are interested in activities such as
quilting, however we are in need of an instructor.
We have some materials available for ceramic
painting as well, but again, we are in need of
instructors that are willing to volunteer an hour or
two of their time.
Last Tuesday of every month - health screening - by
appointment only, call 203-729-7069
During the course of the year there are other
various activities going on spontaneously such as
speakers, therapists hearing screening, bladder
screening bone screening, etc.
