Building Department
The Building Inspector ensures the health and welfare of the residents of the Borough of Naugatuck by regulating the construction, use and occupancy of buildings and other alterations through the application of the State of Connecticut building codes. It continues a tradition that can be traced through recorded history for over 4,000 years in which people have become increasingly aware of their ability to avoid the catastrophic consequences of building construction failure. Today's codes are possible because of the efforts and collaboration of the building code officials, a key segment of the construction industry. The Building Inspector ensures that the standards set by these codes for construction are met through plan review, permit issuance and on-site inspections.
