Borough of Naugatuck
Firefighter
The Borough of Naugatuck is accepting applications for the position of Firefighter. Applications for employment will be accepted until midnight on Friday, May 27, 2022. Applications along with a resume must be completed and submitted online at www.firefighterapp.com/naugatuck.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Must have a High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• Possess a valid Connecticut driver’s license (CDL or Q highly desired) at time of conditional offer
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Must be at least 21 years old at time of conditional job offer
• Must reside and maintain residency within a twelve (12) mile radius of the NFD Headquarters
• Possess a valid (not older than two years) CPAT card at the time of conditional job offer
• Successfully complete and pass a background investigation and post offer physical examination including drug screening.
• EMT certification is not required.
A newly hired firefighter must complete the 14 week Recruit Training Program at the Connecticut Fire Academy. Any newly hired firefighter, who has completed the Recruit Training Program at the Connecticut Fire Academy within 5 years of a conditional offer of employment, will not be required to attend the recruit program. Preference points will be afforded as follows: Naugatuck Residency = 8 points, Veteran = 4 points, CDL or Q Endorsement = 3 points and Firefighter II Certification = 3 points.
Written and oral exams are planned for June and July 2022, respectively. Applicants who meet the eligibility requirements will be notified of the date, time and location as soon as they are set.
