Want to discover enjoyable paths in Andrew Mountain's acreage for an interesting hike or a family walk?
The Naugatuck Conservation Commission will host a free autumn nature walk on Saturday October 15, 2022 at 9am. Explore the main trail that leads past the Dog Park, community gardens, and wetlands into a beautiful field with resting benches for conversations and for viewing & identifying woodland birds. This trail leads to a woodland path with a babbling brook and bridge to traverse over.
During this walk one will be able to listen to bird calls and other critters sitting calmly beneath briars and brambles, or in a grassy field, listening to you, too.
The terrain is mostly flat where the field is but into the wooded forest it becomes downhill and rocky, with some tree roots showing.
Protocols are required - 6 feet social distance, masks optional. Please wear boots, long pants and bring a water bottle. Please meet at the parking lot across from the Dog Park.
