TUTTLE BUILDING RENOVATIONS – PHASE I ROOF REPLACEMENT AND RELATED WORK-NAUGATUCK, CT
Sealed bids for the Tuttle Building Renovations – Phase I - Roof Replacement, Insulation, Sprinkler
and Interior Work, Naugatuck, CT addressed to James R. Stewart, Director of Public Works, c/o
Wendy Hozer, Purchasing Agent will be received in the Purchasing Office, Naugatuck Town Hall,
229 Church Street, Naugatuck, CT 06770 until but no later than 2:00 p.m. local time on Monday,
September 26, 2016 at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud. Late bids will be rejected.
A Mandatory Pre-Bid Walk Through will be held on Wednesday, September 7, 2016, at 11:00 a.m.
local time at the Site of the Tuttle Building, 380 Church Street, Naugatuck, CT 06770. It is highly
recommended for Roofing Contractors to attend.
Access to the site, outside of the Pre-Bid Walk-Through, may be arranged by contacting James R.
Stewart, Director of Public Works at jstewart@naugatuck-ct.gov or (203) 720-7071 this access is not an
alternative to the mandatory walk-through for all general contractors.
Drawings and Specifications may be obtained directly from the printer, Joseph Merritt & Company, 650
Franklin Avenue, Hartford, CT upon a non-refundable fee to be advised at the time of order/pick-up
for EACH SET. Make check payable to Joseph Merritt & Company. The Bid Documents will be
available after 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 30, 2016.

Addenda will be issued to all Bidders who have secured Drawings and Specifications from Joseph
Merritt & Company. Faxes or emails of Addenda will not be provided by the Architect.

Federal Express orders will only be considered if accompanied by a properly filled out Federal Express
form (one form for each set ordered), charging the order to the Contractor's account.
As Security, each Bid must be accompanied by a Certified Check or Cashier's Check drawn upon either a
State Bank and Trust Company or a National Banking Association, to the order of the Borough of
Naugatuck, or the Bid must be accompanied by a Bid Bond having as surety thereto, such Surety
Company or Companies as are authorized to do business in the State of Connecticut of an amount not less
than (5%) of the Bid. NO BID WILL BE ACCEPTED UNLESS ACCOMPANIED BY THE REQUIRED BID DEPOSIT.
