REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS
TO DEVELOP 889 NEW HAVEN ROAD
INDUSTRIAL/COMMERCIAL REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT
The Borough of Naugatuck is seeking proposals from qualified development partners to acquire and transform the 36-acre brownfield site at 889 New Haven Road into a modern light industrial or commercial complex. Backed by $4.2 million in state grants, the Borough will lead environmental remediation, which will seamlessly integrate with the developer’s vertical construction and site design as part of the final engineered environmental cap. Proposals—which may cover the full property or designated parcels—must adhere strictly to commercial, light industrial, or retail end uses (no residential).
Sealed Responses will be received by the Mayor’s Office, Borough of Naugatuck, Town Hall, 229 Church Street, Connecticut, 06770 until February 26, 2027 at 4:00 PM after which no additional proposals will be accepted.

A Non-Mandatory Pre-Submittal Meeting and Site Tour is scheduled for November 10, 2026, 10:00 AM at Borough Hall, 4th Floor, 229 Church Street.
The right is reserved by the Borough of Naugatuck to reject any or all RFPs, to waive any informalities or defects in proposals and to make such time extensions as may be necessary in order to review and compare proposals, to obtain such supplemental information as may be necessary to review proposals and to accept proposals(s) that, in the judgment of the Borough of Naugatuck, will be in the Borough's best interest.
