Overview

The Town Clerk's office receives thousands of documents and maps for record and processes them into Naugatuck's library of land records. The office also totals local real estate conveyance taxes and collects recording fees. Vital statistics - marriages, births and deaths - are also recorded into the Borough's vital records system. The office issues game licenses, liquor permits and assumed trade name certificates.

Locally held state and municipal primaries and elections are organized by the Town Clerk. Machine ballots, absentee ballots, campaign finance returns and voter certificates are within the Town Clerk's jurisdiction, and veterans' discharges for tax exemption purposes are filed at this office as well. Copies of documents are available from the Town Clerk, who administers oaths under the Seal of the Borough of Naugatuck.
